Family History

Since making GEDmill free I have removed the links to GEDmill users' websites from the Logic Mill site, and that includes the link to my family history pages. So now, instead of linking to them from Logic Mill, I'm linking from this site: here. You might also like to read this short article (ON THE TRAIL OF THE CURTISES) written for a fellow family tree researcher.

Sporcle
snapshot of the constellations quizSporcle is a popular online trivia quiz site, and I'm pleased to say they have published a game I created. It tests your knowledge of the stars of the northern hemisphere. There is also one for the southern hemisphere, and between them they cover all 88 official constellations of the International Astronomical Union.

GEDmill is free!

GEDmill is an application I wrote to create websites for family history and genealogy data and it is now free. After supporting it for a few years I have decided it's time to move on to other projects, and so handed everything over to the open source community.

Things to do

I've made some games that can be played in a web browser:

Shuggy screenshot

Shuggy's Bid For Freedom (Javascript)

A platform style puzzle game. You must guide Shuggy to freedom from underground caverns, along platforms and up ladders, while at the same time moving pushing the platforms around to find the shortest route out. There is a high score table to record the best players of all time.

Bozotron screenshot

Bozotron (Java applet)

Loosely based on one of my favourite games, the classic Robotron: 2084, this game has you controlling a little man running around a room full of monsters, trying to save several "damsels in distress," while collecting various goodies that appear from time to time. There are ten progressively harder levels.

Freecell screenshot

Freecell (Javascript)

A well known solitaire-type card game that requires a bit more thought than regular patience. There is a full size version for playing on a PC and a version with smaller graphics suitable for playing on mobile devices.

Casio fx-451 screenshot

fx-451 (Javascript)

An emulation of the Casio fx-451 calculator, which I find much easier to use than any calculator program I've tried on Windows. This is currently a work-in-progress and may remain so for some time to come.

Matrix Demonstration
Here is an interactive demonstration of the properties of a 2x2 square matrix. It is written as an SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) file, so you will need a good browser that can handle SVG such as Firefox.

T-Mobile G2

The T-Mobile G2 showing the home screen with its clock and icons for web browsing mail and so on.On 30th July T-Mobile started offering its latest phone to rival the iPhone, namely the G2 Touch, (available outside T-Mobile as the HTC Hero). I have just received one as an upgrade from my N95.
